How can you have a "political solution" without a political fabric?  You can't.  A political solution in Iraq will not arrive before the US ends the military occupation and thus the military resistance and the context of occupation. Even then, negotiations between militias is not a political solution. But a solution in any event will not occur with the current occupant of the White House.

Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and the other old hands who are now taking over the Congress realize this, in my opinion.  Immediate withdrawal is off the table for the same reason impeachment is off the table -- to allow time to stage the trial that will unify the American people.

The impeachable offense will be W's continuation of the War after funds have been cut off by Congress. Both impeachment and cutting off funds will need massive domestic political support.  The corruption and incompetence that is familiar to the informed has not yet hit the Nightly News, at least not in the nauseating detail that is required.  Hearings and the public reaction needs to be strong enough for impeachment to work and leave the nation whole.
